Baroque Trend // Peter Paul Rubens

The Adoration of the Magi - 1617
Peter Paul Rubens was a seventeenth-century Baroque painter who emphasised on the use of movement, colour and sensuality in his paintings.
Samson and Delilah - 1610
Peter Paul Rubens paintings are:
  • Dynamic
  • Show an emotional style
  • Have rich texture
  • Vivid colours
  • Lively movement
  • Are dramatic
  • Portray restless motion

From looking at Peter Paul Rubens paintings I can see that emotion is portrayed throughout his paintings from the use of movement and facial expressions within the characters. For my Autumn/Winter '15-16 Baroque trend I will take inspiration from Peter Paul Rubens paintings and try to display a dramatic approach within my final photographs by having my model in a series of different poses and hard facial expressions.
