Baroque trend A/W '15-16 // Test Shot
10:24
This is my first test shoot for the Baroque trend I am using as my Autumn/Winter 2015-16 trend. For my outfit I have chosen my model to wear a black V-neck wrapped, floaty dress with gold baroque-patterned embellishment to capture a sense of elegance. I love how the skirt of the dress had numerous under layers of tulle so that when the model spun around or gracefully lifted the sides of the skirt, the dress portrayed a sense of movement; causing a princess-like effect. I wanted the photo shoot to look elegant yet historical so I chose to locate my photo shoot outside with the model photographed against old, wooden doors and patterned glass windows. I like how I chose to take my photographs on a bright, sunny day so that the reflection of the light can be seen on my model's face; highlighting her in a positive figure. In some of my photographs I chose to continue with the Baroque theme by having my model hold a gold Baroque-designed mirror, which complements the colour scheme of black and gold and also complements the style of the trend. I like how the model's reflection bounces off from the mirror into the camera in one of the photographs I took. Overall I am pleased with my first test shot because I think the outfit I chose my model to wear suits the trend and also I think the location I chose to shoot my photographs matches well with the historical concept I am going for.
