Casual wear

When researching into next years trends for Spring/Summer '16 on trend forecasting website www.wgsn.com, I came across a sourcing guide which helps to understand the key features and textiles that will be used for casual wear in 2016.

Casual wear will mainly involve denim being dominant throughout clothing, camouflage prints, a hint of pastel colour influence, gloss and pearlised coatings and lightweight materials.

(Enter colour chart of casual wear clothing - green, blue, turquoise, brown, khaki, purple)

Surface & Finish // Eco Military

Vintage military looks gain momentum with weaved denim. Washed out patterns are created in a range of forest green and khaki coloured denims and are decorated with camouflage patterns.

Surface & Finish // Gloss Coating

Shiny finishes continue from A/W to S/S with a strong focus on heavily coated looks with smooth and textured outerwear fabrics. New this season is sheer PU material and heavy metallic coatings on natural bases such as: linen and cottons; experimenting with different, raw contrasts.

Wash & Colour // Soft Fades

Clothing is experimented with various laundry treatments to give an extreme fade look to denim. New effects can be created through mixing dyed indigo and colour-fast threads to create fades. Casual colour-woven shirt check prints and stripes create sun-bleached aspects through whitened yarns.
