Amsterdam // Transport

10:31

A wide range of transport is used everyday in Amsterdam for residents and tourists to commute to and from their destination. The transport in Amsterdam differs to England's because each is suited to different lifestyles and surroundings.

Trams

Trams are used as transport throughout Amsterdam and run til midnight. If you are travelling quite a long distance, trams are a more appropriate way of transport; rather than cycling or walking.

Cycling

Cycling in Amsterdam is very common where a lot of residents use it as the most convenient way of transport. In my time at Amsterdam, I saw a lot of tourists renting bicycles so that they could have that true Amsterdam experience. There are bicycle paths throughout the city and a range of companies offer bicycle rentals where you can rent a bicycle all day or for several days.
Canal Boats
Surrounding Amsterdam are a large quantity of canals. Many people take part in boat tours and cruises in order to take them through to different areas of the city.

Trains and Buses
Just like England, Amsterdam has their own Metro service (the same as a train service in England), and also a bus service.
