Pre S/S '17 // Moschino
04:49When I think of Moschino, I picture extravagant, bold and "out there" designs, contrasted in an array of rainbow-effect colours which really leave the audience speechless. And by all means, this was the exact scenario portrayed in Moschino's Pre Spring/Summer '17 collection which was held in Los Angeles earlier on this week.
Since being appointed creative director of Moschino three years ago, Jeremy Scott has completely transformed the Italian fashion house into a fun, energetic, pop-cultural brand which has high expectations.
From viewing Moshino's Pre Spring/Summer '17 collection, the use of character and imagination that Jeremy Scott portrays within the collection is really brought to life from the type of garments and prints and patterns used.
The main influence towards Moschino's Pre Spring/Summer '17 collection was the 'Swinging Sixties' where the collection paid tribute to an era that was so widely acknowledged for its fashion. Crochet dresses, knitted flared trousers and jumpsuits became the centrepiece garments for the show and were printed in a selection of brightly coloured, psychedelic florals.
In terms of colour schemes, the collection focused on a fluoro and kaleidoscopic colour palette of bright yellows, greens, oranges and pinks which mirrored the types of colours used in a variety of clothing from back in the '60s. (Pantone colour chart below).
Overall, Moschino's Pre Spring/Summer '17 collection definitely set the scene for what is to be expected next year from the brand, and I for one, can say that I am all up for this upcoming crochet craze!
